ENVIROTHON - Congratulations to Eastern Technical High School Team #1 on winning the 16th annual Baltimore County Envirothon.  (Pictured with Maryland's Deputy Secretary of Agriculture, Earl F. "Buddy" Hance)

The Baltimore County Envirothon is a hands-on environmental competition for high school students sponsored by the District in conjunction with Baltimore County Public Schools.  Students are tested on their knowledge of our county's natural resources -- soils, forestry, wildlife, water and a current environmental issue. Students visit five "in-field" test stations where written and hands-on problem solving is required along with formulating a strategy for increasing public awareness.

The winning team from the local Envirothon goes on to represent Baltimore County at the state competition.
